Are you an experienced, passionate and professional Fishing Guide or Ghillie looking for opportunities during the 2027 fishing season in Scotland?
We are looking to build a network of reliable, knowledgeable, guest-focused guides and ghillies to work with visiting anglers from the UK and overseas, across Scotland and the Scottish Highlands.
We are particularly interested in guides with experience in:
• Fly Fishing
• Wild Brown Trout Fishing
• Atlantic Salmon Fishing
• Sea Trout & Night Fishing
• River & Loch Fishing
• Fly Casting Instruction
• Spey Casting Instruction
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking professional individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to delivering a consistently high standard of service, safety and guest experience.
Applicants should ideally have:
• Strong knowledge of Scottish fishing and local waters
• Proven experience as a professional Fishing Guide or Ghillie
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, friendly and welcoming attitude
• Appropriate professional qualifications where applicable
• Current First Aid certification
• Child Protection Certification
• Appropriate public liability insurance
• A full understanding of water safety, risk assessment, health and safety and guest welfare
• The ability to work independently and as part of a professional guiding team
• A full UK driving licence
Professional Qualifications
Applications are particularly encouraged from qualified and certified guides holding recognised professional qualifications, including:
SGAIC | FFI CI | FFI THCI | APGAI | AAPGAI
Other recognised and relevant professional guiding, coaching or fly-fishing qualifications will also be considered.
Opportunities for the 2027 Season
Successful applicants may be offered professional guiding opportunities based on their individual experience, qualifications, location, availability and areas of expertise.
Opportunities may include:
Full-day and half-day guided fishing, fly-fishing instruction, Atlantic salmon fishing, wild brown trout fishing, sea trout and night fishing, Spey casting tuition, corporate groups and bespoke fishing experiences.
We are committed to maintaining high professional standards throughout our guiding network, ensuring that every guest receives a safe, knowledgeable, professional and memorable experience.
Interview & Selection Process
The 2027 recruitment, interview and selection process will take place during November and December 2026 and January 2027.
Applications will be reviewed throughout this period, with suitable applicants invited to an interview.
Applicants should be prepared to provide details of:
• Guiding and ghillie experience
• Professional qualifications and certifications
• First Aid and Child Protection certification
• Public liability insurance
• Fishing and guiding specialities
• Geographic operating area
• Availability for the 2027 season
• Professional references, where applicable
• Full UK driving licence
Following the interview and assessment process, successful applicants will be contacted regarding potential guiding opportunities for the 2027 fishing season.
